Mexican food in London is wildly inconsistent and generally slightly crap, but Taqueria is a rare and authentic gem. This understated restaurant is located in a gentrified enclave of West London, but lacks the prices or pretentious attitude to match.
Taqueria serves tacos - the clue is in the name - and it serves them well. The Pescado (beer battered pollack, chipotle mayo, avocado mash) and Camarones (garlicky griddled prawns) are personal favourites, but the steak and chicken offerings are equally as good, and the pomegranate and avocado house salad makes for a refreshing counterpart. A few dishes might be hit and miss but you get free spicy nuts on arrival, the service is really friendly, and they make a mean margarita. What more could you really want?
